
23nd Annual Lights On Afterschool Celebration!
Launched in October 2000, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. The effort has become a hallmark of the afterschool movement and generates media coverage across the country each year. This year IAN celebrates CHAMPIONS in the field as we are hosting a panel discussion with prominent and thought-leaders in the field.

Tracey Ballas will serve as our moderator for the panel discussion. Tracey Ballas has been a devoted leader in the after-school field in a variety of ways. After many years of running programs in public schools, churches and YMCA’s, Tracey became the director of the Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association and the Ohio Project on Out-of-School Time. She is one of the founders of the National AfterSchool Association and served as president for six years. Tracey also is one of the founders and past president of the Ohio AfterSchool Network. Additionally, Tracey has been an education and training associate for the National Institute on Out-of-School Time (NIOST). As a trainer and consultant, Tracey has worked across the United States and Europe with programs large and small, single and multi-site, for-profit and not-for-profit, military and civilian. She is the author of Targeted Leadership: Building a Team That Hits the Mark! She has been featured in Child, Working Mother, Parenting and Child Care Information Exchange magazines.
