Like, Comment, Share: Social Media Literacy and Healthy Relationships
Social media literacy as a skill can also be applied to processing and understanding social media images, messages, and how they shape the world around us. With communication being mostly online, a lot can still be lost in the digital space and left for interpretation. As relationships move online between peers and family, there is capacity for harm and miscommunication. This interactive workshop aims to explore what healthy boundaries look like in the online space. Learn what local laws protect young people and providers online and potential consequences to oversharing. With messaging that contains violence towards marginalized groups, how do we step in to ensure community safety? Lastly, we’ll discuss resources and ways to intervene on social media and beyond.
