Gangs-then and now-What is Different

This workshop will provide youth personnel with basic information about current gang culture and behavior and the supports needed.  This awareness will help staff to better understand the ideology that triggers gang activity inside and around schools and afterschool program space.  This workshop will also provide insight into the role staff and other adults play in creating a safe school environment. Topics will include facts that are typical gang behavior, fostering alternative group behavior in youth and actions you can take to increase safety long term.  The training will be facilitate by IAN trainers, Terrance Smith, Carlos Vega, and Devon Tims with the BUILD Intervention Team

 Registration Information: You must pre-register for this training.  IAN training policy states that participants arriving after the 15 minute grace period will not receive a training certificate and may be asked to leave if seating is not available.
