Throughout my career, I have devoted myself to empowering individuals through a trauma-informed approach and advocating for out-of-school time programs. With over seven years of experience in this field, I have witnessed the profound impact that out-of-school programs can have on young minds and their communities. I strongly believe that every child deserves access to quality education and enrichment opportunities, regardless of their geographical location. This belief has been the driving force behind my commitment to creating and implementing effective out-of-school programs in rural areas.
Investing in the Illinois Afterschool Network empowers me to connect with opportunities and develop strategies for building a stronger out-of-school program.

No matter what age, all youth need to have a supportive, fun and learning environment. Illinois AfterSchool Network supports the staff and leadership working with those youth to gain knowledge and resources to provide this kind of environment when in the expanded learning time. The staff has significant impact over our youth and IAN wants it to be successful.

I have been in the field of early care and education for almost 28 years. I care deeply about children and their futures. Teachers working with young people have such a great opportunity to help develop children’s sense of self-worth and independence and I would like to be even a small part of that.
